The beginning of a CD:

View outside Howling Dog Studios

Forgive my new-found superstition, but after a few mishaps, including my near miss with eternity - I was avoiding talking about my new recording date until I was actually in the recording studio.

The initial tracks have been recorded at Don Richmond's Howling Dog Studio in Alamosa, Colorado this past Thursday & Friday. The weather was perfect and after an exhausting two days, all songs have initial tracks down.

Laying down tracks

Participating on this session was Eric St. John, drums, percussion & guitar, and Scott Harris, pedal steel player, as well as Don on bass & guitar. I feel very at home here, having recorded previously with Blue Moon Prairie here, There is still a lot of work to do and I'm relieved to have started.

Right after the car accident, I was attaching meaning to the obstacles, ultimately coming to the conclusion that all I needed to do was be invested in showing up and not get invested in attaching meaning (thank you Landmark Forum).

Stay tuned for more pictures and possibly a rough mix. The next recording date will feature more guests artists.

Thank you for all your kind wishes during my recovery, and continued belief in my music.

Love, Laura
